An accomplished visionary, entrepreneur, and chief executive in software/SaaS and Internet industries, Ms. Silvera has founded two technology companies, built a start-up to IPO and $1B market cap serving healthcare, financial, and communications businesses, led three turnarounds to innovative markets and M&A, raised $100M+ capital from venture capital sources, corporate partners, institutional investors and public markets, and developed patented technologies. Prior to founding Code-N, Ms. Silvera was CEO/Director of Apptera, a company that she transformed from an early-stage voice software business into a leader in multimedia mobile advertising. She is a frequent speaker at media, technology, and investment banking conferences, has been featured in business and trade press, and has contributed articles to local and national publications. She holds a B.S. degree in Economics from Turku University, Finland, with thesis work in St.Gallen, Switzerland, and completed graduate studies in Mathematical Economics at Syracuse University, New York. A multilingual, dual citizen of the USA and Finland, Ms. Silvera enjoys “extreme” skiing, traveling, tennis, hiking, opera, and gourmet cooking.
Mr. Morgan is managing director of Idealab’s New Ventures Group. He has spent 30 years counseling entrepreneurs throughout the startup process, first as a well-known Silicon Valley lawyer and, for the past 12 years , as a managing director at Mayfield Fund. Prior to joining Mayfield, he was a partner with two Silicon Valley firms, Latham & Watkins and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. In his career he has closed more than 750 venture-capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, and other public offerings and serves on several corporate boards. Mr. Morgan holds degrees from Dartmouth College and Oxford University (Christ Church) and earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia.
Zain Khan was an early contributor at Google, Inc., where he managed the global corporate IT group and scaled the operations to over 100 people in 25 countries. Subsequently he started his own investing and consulting company, OZ Ventures, which advises start-ups on technical design, recruiting , partner introductions, and investor contacts. Zain is also co-founder of Binary Venture Partners and serves on the board or as a board observer to a number of his portfolio companies. As an active angel investor, OZ Ventures has a growing portfolio of companies and has had successful exits, such as Plusmo, Powerset, Jaxtr, Yunteq.
